Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity

The Director of Corporate Communications at Aldermore Group plays a key leadership role in shaping and delivering the Group’s communications and corporate affairs strategy. Leading a dynamic and highly motivated Communications team, this role champions our brand objectives while providing strategic counsel to senior leaders across the business.

With a focus on tone, voice, and reputation, the Director ensures robust governance around all brand and communications activity. They will build and manage strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, using these connections to deliver impactful, insight-led communications that enhance the Group’s visibility and position Aldermore as a trusted voice and thought leader in its markets.

As a core member of the Commercial Shared Services (CSS) leadership team, the Director will play an integral part in influencing at ExCo and Director level—building trust, credibility, and alignment across the organisation.

What will your day look like?

  • Lead the delivery of Aldermore Group’s communications and corporate affairs strategy, managing a high-performing team across brand, employee, digital, media, and public affairs communications, while supporting senior leaders, ExCo, and the CEO in their roles as spokespeople and strategic leaders.
  • Champion the Group’s brand and reputation, setting the tone and voice of all communications and ensuring strong governance is in place. You’ll lead the development of messaging and campaigns that build brand awareness, support commercial objectives, and position Aldermore as a trusted, knowledgeable partner to key customer segments.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including ExCo members and business line MDs. You’ll use these relationships to shape and deliver integrated communications campaigns that are engaging, impactful, and aligned to strategic goals.
  • Drive the performance and effectiveness of the communications function, managing budgets, agency relationships, and resources to ensure high-quality delivery and value for money. You'll monitor activity against KPIs and recommend improvements where needed.
  • Lead internal communications strategy and channel management, delivering engaging, clear, and creative content that connects colleagues to the Group’s purpose, priorities, and culture—continuously evolving how we communicate to keep it fresh and impactful.
  • Manage issues and crisis communications, taking the lead on messaging, media handling, and internal briefings to protect and strengthen the Group’s reputation during high-impact or sensitive situations.

  • Commercially astute and values-driven — demonstrating strong integrity, dependability, and a passion for the role. Ambitious and self-motivated, with a hands-on approach balanced by effective delegation in a collaborative, flat-structure environment.
