Aldermore Group – why we exist

Let us tell you a bit about us

We’re Aldermore – the award-winning bank, trusted and highly rated by over a quarter of a million customers for more than a decade. With our range of specialist mortgages, savings accounts and business finance solutions, we're backing more people to go for it.

We thrive by saying “yes” to our customers. We respect the ingenuity of entrepreneurs and their startups; we give first-timers a leg-up onto the property ladder; we open up the lending market to many; and thousands of customers chose Motonovo Finance every week to buy their next car, van or motorbike.

This is where you come in. We are on a journey. A journey defined by a destination; to deliver on our purpose.

Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity

The Marketing and Digital Director within Commercial Shared Services (CSS) is a senior leader responsible for shaping and executing a high-impact marketing strategy across the Group, with a strong emphasis on digital performance and brand leadership.

This role champions a data-driven, customer-focused digital marketing approach that boosts visibility, drives engagement, and delivers meaningful commercial results. The Director also owns the Group-wide brand strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment across all internal and external channels.

Working closely with business line MDs and senior stakeholders, the Director leads a talented team to design and deliver integrated marketing programmes that support the Group’s strategic goals.

As a vital member of the CSS leadership team, this role requires building credibility, trust, and influence at Executive Committee and Director levels.

What will your day look like?

  • Lead the development and execution of the Group’s marketing strategy, partnering closely with Business Line MDs and senior leaders to ensure marketing initiatives are insight-driven, aligned with business goals, and positioned for future growth.
  • Own and drive the Group’s digital marketing strategy, overseeing all digital channels, performance marketing, content, SEO/SEM, automation, and analytics to ensure data-led decision making and continuous optimisation in line with regulatory standards.
  • Champion brand leadership and internal marketing, ensuring consistent expression of the brand across internal communications and employee engagement, while embedding strong brand governance throughout the organisation.
  • Plan and oversee integrated marketing campaigns and key events, managing end-to-end delivery for major internal and external initiatives, including flagship conferences and industry sponsorships, while monitoring performance against KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain influential stakeholder relationships, especially at ExCo and Director levels, translating strategic priorities into actionable marketing plans through proactive and consultative engagement.
  • Manage agency and supplier partnerships and own the marketing budget, ensuring clear briefs, performance tracking, value for money, and robust financial oversight with regular reporting on key marketing and digital performance indicators.

What do we expect from you?

  • Experienced senior marketing leader with a strong background in financial services or similarly regulated sectors, well-versed in managing regulatory, reputational, and stakeholder complexities while driving impactful marketing strategies.
  • Proven digital marketing expert, skilled in leading digital transformation and managing channels such as SEO/SEM, performance marketing, content, automation, and analytics, with a keen focus on data-driven decision making and compliance.
  • Strategic brand builder with a track record of developing and evolving brand strategies that enhance internal engagement, external perception, and competitive positioning across complex organisations.
  • Results-oriented campaign and event leader, experienced in designing and delivering integrated marketing programmes and high-profile events that achieve measurable commercial and strategic outcomes.
  • Transformational and collaborative leader who coaches and develops diverse teams, builds strong stakeholder relationships at all levels, and brings a pragmatic, empathetic, and influential style to leadership and partnership with executives.
  • Commercially savvy and values-driven professional with excellent judgment, integrity, and a relentless work ethic—motivated, self-reliant, and comfortable navigating a fast-paced, flat-structure environment while balancing hands-on involvement and delegation.

What can you expect from us?

  • A friendly and flexible culture, the same as how we work with our customers.
  • A growing organisation that means there’s lots of opportunities to progress
  • A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to get behind from day one.
  • And of course, you will be rewarded competitively, with a good range of core benefits and bonus potential.

Still curious?

Join us and we’ll make the same promises to you as a colleague, as we do to each of our customers. We’re committed to building a working environment that values respect, diversity, and compassion. We welcome people regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and whether you’re pregnant or on family leave.

We champion equality by supporting the exceptions to the rule and getting finance to where it’s needed.

We lend the money people save with us, to people who want to get on in life; build businesses and create employment, buy property for people to live and work in, and purchase vehicles to move families and goods around.

Our behavioural framework underpins our purpose and strategic drivers, as it outlines the behaviours we need to demonstrate in order to succeed. Where our strategic drivers (Stay Ahead Propositions, Relationships That Last and Progressive Platform) outline what we need to do to succeed, our behaviours guide us in how. In your second interview, we’ll ask you to talk through some examples where you’ve demonstrated these behaviours in your previous roles.

As you would expect, we offer a competitive basic salary and reward package, and you’ll also benefit from our commitment to investing in your professional development throughout your journey with us.
